The White House Invites Local Nonprofit to Commemorate World Hepatitis Day 2011
The Hepatitis B Foundation (www.hepb.org), celebrating its 20th anniversary as the global authority dedicated to eliminating hepatitis B worldwide, participated in the commemoration of the first official “World Hepatitis Day” at the White House on July 28, 2011. The hepatitis-designated day was established by the World Health Organization to focus attention on the global health threat of viral hepatitis and to promote actions to confront it. The Hepatitis Foundation members who were invited to the historic White House event included Chari Cohen (far right), Assoc. Director for Public Health; Dr. Timothy Block (second from right), President; and Joan Block (third from right), Executive Director.
